Donut Fest Declares Firecakes & West Town Bakery Best; New Acadia Menu; More

WICKER PARK—Nearly a thousand doughnut fans (broken up between morning and afternoon periods) jammed into Chop Shop's 1st Ward Sunday for the second annual Donut Fest. Firecakes took the Judges' Choice with their Tahitian vanilla glazed doughnut, while West Town Bakery's doughssant took fan favorite. [DNAinfo]

SOUTH LOOP—Chef/owner Ryan McCaskey has expanded Acadia's a la carte menu and brought prices back around to be more in line with what they were at the restaurant's opening. You can view the new a la carte menu below. A new tasting menu is expected to be released soon. UPDATE: McCaskey says that "the bar menu will get an overhaul" as well, featuring items such as fried cobia collar, ramen and more. [EaterWire]

DOUGLAS PARK—EL Ideas will host a ten course speed dating dinner with ten male and ten females attendees chosen by a lottery system on February 17.
