Get ready for another Italian restaurant to open in River North. Prolific New York-based restaurant group LDV Hospitality is bringing its third location of its "modern Italian" concept Dolce Italian to Chicago at the Godfrey Hotel, according to a rep, and targeting a late spring opening. The group, which runs more than 20 restaurants, bars and cafes, has a Dolce Italian coming soon to Atlanta and one open in Miami, which is slated to be featured on the Bravo show "Best New Restaurant" beginning tomorrow.
Dolce Italian Miami serves Italian classics, including a mozzarella bar, to the glitterati in South Beach. The Chicago outpost will serve a similar menu (housemade pastas, Neopolitan pizzas) in the Godfrey's ground-floor space that has been vacant since the hotel—with the swanky indoor-outdoor rooftop lounge serving as its only food option until now—opened in early 2014. Meanwhile, Italian continues to be king in River North.
