Bangers & Lace Brings Big City Concept to Evanston

Larger space means Evanstonians have more room to stretch out.

Ashok Selvam is the editor of Eater Chicago and a native Chicagoan armed with more than two decades of award-winning journalism. Now covering the world of restaurants and food, his nut graphs are super nutty.

Bangers & Lace Evanston promises more of what made its older sibling in Chicago successful.

Management claims that new space, at 4,200 square feet, is 30 percent larger than the original Wicker Park location. It also includes a 30-seat bar. Familiar touches from the Chicago location have come along to Evanston including curtains with lace, clapboard siding and mounted taxidermy on the walls.

Though the 32 beers on tap may be the main attraction for patrons, classic cocktails like the Aviation, Old Fashioned and Manhattan will be served with, what management calls, "a thoughtful twist."

Bangers & Lace Evanston is open from 3 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday through Friday. It's the same opening time on Saturday, but they're open an hour later, closing at 3 a.m.
