The word is out that celebrity chef Jose Garces' Argentine steakhouse Rural Society will hit the upcoming Loews Hotel in Streeterville this coming March.
Garces began cooking Argentine food early on and, after a trip there, found that the country's passion for cooking over flame drew him in even more.
He plans on making that passion his own by filling his small plates menu with wood-fired meats, fish and vegetables over a large wood and charcoal burning grill in the middle of the restaurant.
Expect South American wines (particularly those from Argentina) and beers, to dominate at Rural Society Streeterville. Like at the Washington D.C. location, the bar menu will feature whiskeys and Italian aperitifs. A cocktail menu calling back to traditional drinks of Argentina will also be featured.
This will mark the Iron Chef and James Beard-award winner's second restaurant in his hometown of Chicago after Mercat a la Planxa.
