Motor Row Brewing Co. officially opens to the public on Thursday in the South Loop, but if customers didn't reserve a spot online, they're out of luck.
Reservations are totally filled for this weekend, said manager Tracie Barthel. The first-floor tap room can accommodate 20 to 25 people, but they'll open up more space later this year. Motor Row, the former Broad Shoulders, plans to open a second floor tap room in March and a third room at the end of the summer.
For now, they're taking reservations for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays giving customers four, 90-minute slots to come in an check out the new place. They'll post reservation links at the brewery's website each week.
It's a hectic time for Motor Row while getting ready to open, but the brewery hopes to do away with the reservation system when demand slows down, said Barthel. The brewery gets its name from the building it occupies, the former Federal Motor Car Co. showroom.
"We've all been part of breweries for a long time...and we're excited to be part of Chicago's brewery explosion. Chicago breweries are a great community. It's like a family," Barthel said.
Five beers appear on the opening menu for $6 a pint. Check it out below:
