Miku Sushi Opens Friday; Sable Announces New Head Bartender; More

LINCOLN SQUARE— Miku Sushi will open at 5 p.m. on Friday. It's the restaurant that's replacing Laughing Bird and Tank Sushi at 4514 N. Lincoln Ave. [EaterWire]

RIVER NORTH— Sable Kitchen and Bar has made an internal hire to fill its vacant head bartender position. They've promoted John Stanton to the job, as he replaces Mike Ryan. Ryan left Sable after taking a job with parent company Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. Stanton's been with Sable since they've opened in 2010 and he brings a decade of bartending experience with him. ST. BEN'S— Si Fu Chinese Latin Kitchen is celebrating a new menu with a free tasting party from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at 2116 W. Roscoe St. They're touting the menu, (which features Chino-Latino fusion items like a Mongolian Beef Burrito and beer-battered avocado with Cholula mayo) as being more upscale and chef driven. LINCOLN PARK— Next week, Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar chef Won Kim takes over the kitchen at Trellis, 2426 N. Racine Ave. A special menu of Korean and Polish street food will be available on Tuesday, Jan. 20. Reservations are recommended, but not mandatory. [EaterWire]
