Four Corners Tavern Group (Benchmark, Gaslight, WestEnd) plans on opening a restaurant inside Maggie Daley Park.
The Chicago Park District board could approve the deal on Wednesday, green lighting "Maggie's At the Park," a casual restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, reports Crain's. Customers at Four Corners' Crossing Tavern will see similarities, as the group hopes to serve the same burgers, salads and fish tacos prepared at its Lincoln Park restaurant. An opening date hasn't been shared.
They hope to build the restaurant where Grant Park's old cafe, The Green, once stood near the park's mini-golf course, reports DNAinfo.
It's been a busy month for Chicago Park District restaurants, as news broke about a new restaurant, The Boathouse Cafe, in Humboldt Park. Twenty-acre Maggie Daley Park opened in December. Named after the late wife of former-Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, park-goers have flocked there to try the ice skating ribbon.
