Columbus' Curry

WICKER PARK—Owner and former Bollywood star Rahul Bajaj says he's planning to open Columbus' Curry, a new Indian spot at 1359 N. Milwaukee, on Columbus Day (October 12), fittingly. It'll serve classic Indian dishes inspired by his mother's recipes, and IPA's, in a 45-seat orange-and-cream storefront. [EaterWire]

BRIDGEPORT—Beers, brats, and the Bears abound on Sunday at Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar, where Publican Quality Meats is hosting a cash-only cookout beginning around 1:30 p.m. Fans will enjoy gridiron-inspired eats such as "Smoke Wheat Every Sunday," a chicken sausage made with Marz Community Brewing's "Smoke Wheat Everyday" Grätzer wheat beer. Packers fans attend at their own risk. [EaterWire]

BEER HERE—Chicago microbrews are celebrated on the Gapers Block Microbrewery Crawl, featuring tours and tastings at four local breweries topped off with a barbecue dinner for $60. Stops on the all-day event include Lagutinas, Goose Island, and BreakRoom Brewery. Now in its third year, this event has consistently sold out, so beer buffs who are 21 or older are encouraged to purchase tickets quickly. [Gapers Block]
