Marty Fosse Bringing New Life to Andersonville's Marigold Space

Veteran restaurateur Marty Fosse is lending a hand to make a concept in the former Marigold space stick. That restaurant's owners, Jim Dragatsis and Sandeep Malhotra (who still lease the space), reached out to Fosse, who owns three restaurants in Andersonville (Anteprima, Acre, Ombra) and one in Wicker Park (Azzurra) for help in reconcepting the troubled spot, Edgeville Buzz reports.

What resulted is Summerdale, an Americana restaurant that is due to open in the early weeks of October. The trio are hoping that Summerdale becomes an everyday stop for locals.

Featuring a limited menu of iconic comfort food dishes (beef bologna, burger, baked beans, homemade pickles, buffalo wings), the dishes will be uncomplicated and will include meat that is butchered at the restaurant.

Time will tell if bringing Fosse into the fold will be the key in making a successful run in the space which, besides Marigold, has also been the home to Ole Ole and Bull Horns Taco Bar.
