Will Chicagoans take to a gelato shop that crafts its frozen treats in the shape of roses? You're going to find out this winter, as Chicago Magazine reports that the Parisian artisan gelato mini-chain Amorino is opening an outpost on State Street in a few months.
Amorino, which also has locations in NYC, across Europe and reportedly has U.S. expansions set for Las Vegas, Beverly Hills, Boston, and San Francisco, is known for its flowery gelato presentations but also serves baked goods, crepes, waffles, hot and cold drinks, coffees, milkshakes and more. The 838 N. State St. location will serve much of these, including gelato-stuffed macarons.
The concept is one that the Magnificent Mile tourist set should enjoy. Will other Chicagoans buy in too?
