Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar Hoping to Add a Restaurant

The cult-favorite Bridgeport bar wants to get into the food game

Can a longtime heralded cocktail and craft beer bar (and retail store) be successful with food? Maria's Packaged Goods and Community Bar wants to find out, as ownership is trying to add a restaurant, DNAinfo reports. The major expansion would also include 70 new indoor and outdoor seats as well as a second bar.

A hearing on the zoning change is slated for next month and construction will begin in November, if all goes according to plan. Then patrons could expect Asian street food at the restaurant in the spring.

A restaurant from Maria's and slated chef would add a much-needed dining option to Bridgeport, while expanding a place that already has many admirers. Stay tuned to see how it works out.
