Care for a little surfing with your fish tacos, Chicagoans? If the city approves it, those two things, in addition to cocktails other food and sporting events, will head to Montrose Beach next summer, NBC5 reported.
Chicago Surf, the brain baby of local entrepreneur K.C. Hoos, would feature a cafe and patio serving sandwiches, salads, tacos, craft beer and cocktails. Pig roasts, barbecues, lobster boils and chef pop-ups are also part of the culinary game plan, while other sporting events are also in the works. But the main entertainment would be a 16-foot wave machine, dubbed a "surfstream," that simulates different types of waves in a pool on the beach.
If all goes according to Hoos' plan, construction will begin this fall and Chicago Surf will open next May. Follow along his Kickstarter here.
