Although Soho House itself isn't opening until Monday, both public restaurants on the ground floor are making their Chicago debuts in just two days. Get ready for lots of rotisserie chicken and pizza in the members-only hotel from across the pond.
Chicken Shop, opening for dinner on Friday and brunch on Sunday, only serves one entree—chicken. The free-range air-chilled birds are cooked on a rotisserie and served whole, halved, or quartered.
Also expect sides (coleslaw, corn on the cob, butter lettuce and avocado salad) and desserts (apple pie, brownies, lemon meringue pie). Brunch items include poached egg and avocado on toast and chicken and waffles with egg gravy, in addition to the always-available rotisserie chicken.
Pizza East serves ciabatta-style pies cooked in wood-fueled ovens and also has patio seating. Both restaurants are walk-in-only.
Both restaurants are on the ground floor of the 108,000 square-foot London-based private club and hotel, accessible from the street. A third public food and drink spot, The Allis lounge, is also inside and will be open all day for cocktails, coffee, and smaller food items. Stay tuned for more.
