More change is afoot at the former Spin. Whiskey Trust and Chloe's, the multi-concept bar, distillery, eatery and nightclub that replaced the former gateway to Boystown in June following its 15-year run on the corner of Halsted and Belmont, is now under new management—the people behind Boystown staples Hydrate, Elixir, and Replay, according to chicagopride.com. Although many details are still under wraps, look for some mix of a new name and concept to come to at least one of them as soon as next week.
Reached by phone, Jason Zilderbrand, who is still sole proprietor, said that both places have been busy and that he brought in LKH Management for added expertise and to "do what they do best." "They have a lot of experience in the neighborhood," he said.
Despite a report that Whiskey Trust "will be rebranded as more of a live-performance venue," owner Jason Zilderbrand, who is still sole proprietor, said that LKH Management will reconcept Chloe's but "Whiskey Trust is not changing." He declined to discuss timing or if either will be open this week, only saying the changes "are happening very quickly" and they'll be "a big exciting surprise for the community." Gopride.com reported that "renovations will begin over the next couple weeks with new special events set to start next week."
Spin, a large former Boystown landmark nightclub known for shower shows, closed abruptly in late May and was quickly turned into the new concepts. LKH Management reps promise more information on the next quick turnaround early next week.
