Red Lion Grill Hits Logan Square; Aodake in Uptown; Three More Openings

New, 1 comment

LOGAN SQUARE—The Red Lion Grill (which is not related to the forthcoming Red Lion Pub coming to Lincoln Park and had to change its name and sign), is now open at 2906 W. Armitage. It sells the type of "greatest hits" food that a British-style pub would typically have (Welsh rarebit, bangers 'n mash, shepard's pie). The rub is that they do not have a liquor license yet, so do not expect to grab a pint for the time being as they are strictly BYOB. [Logan Squarist]

UPTOWN—With its first location in the city, the Asian bistro concept Aodake Sushi & Steakhouse is now open in the former Blue Ocean space at 4650 N. Clark. They are open seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. [Uptown Update]

RIVER NORTH—Woodhaven Bar has sprung up in the former home of Fedora Lounge (712 N. Clark) a month after it closed. They're in soft open mode for now according to the bar's Twitter profile. [EaterWire]

BRONZEVILLE—Owner Raquel Dailey-Parham held a grand opening last month for the Puerto Rican restaurant Maracas, which features recipes from her mother at 4317 S. Cottage Grove. [Sun-Times]

MOUNT PROSPECT—Promising a modern spin on Polish cuisine, Qulinarnia is quietly open in the northern suburbs. [EaterWire]
