The First of Many Bee & Teas Invades Chicago Today

Today's the day to get your boba tea and baos, as Bee & Tea's first location opens in Wicker Park. From Mandy Calara, who brought forth the Forever Yogurt chain, Bee & Tea prominently features the Taiwanese milk tea drink (also called bubble tea) and a savory menu designed by Falafill's executive chef Maher Chebaro.

Bee & Tea's bubble drinks come in 30 flavors, with customers able to combine a maximum of three flavors into one drink. Chebaro's bao menu features nine selections including butter chicken, beef chorizo, salt & pepper tofu, as well as mushroom & quinoa, and more that can also be found in wraps and rice bowls.

The space is funky, featuring a honeycomb design on one wall and staggered, colorful art on another. Overall, the bright, natural wood on wall decorations and table-tops brings a lightness to the room.

Calara is already expanding Bee & Tea, with three locations coming to the city, three more to the suburbs and one heading to Madison, WI. Specific addresses are shown on the website.
