Chicago bars rallied at the 12th Annual Tales of the Cocktail awards held in New Orleans on Saturday evening. The big winner was River North tiki spot Three Dots and a Dash, run by Paul McGee, which won Best New American Cocktail Bar. Kokonas and Achatz's The Aviary nabbed World's Best Cocktail Menu, following head bartender Charles Joly's American Bartender of the Year nod last year.
McGee previously won for his work at Logan Square's The Whistler. The other nominee from Chicago this year was Sable Kitchen & Bar, which was up for Best American Hotel Bar (Portland's Clyde Common took home the prize).
