One day late last year, Emporium Arcade Bar owner Danny Marks drove past a particular block in Logan Square and spotted a for-lease sign. He was wowed when he walked through the space; he was sold when he heard who the other tenants on the block were. Today, Marks opens Emporium Logan Square, his table game expansion with an interior food truck, bringing yet another notable hospitality option to the 2300 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.
The space that wowed Marks is larger and more open than the original Emporium, with 30-foot ceilings under wooden beams that make it reminiscent of a small wooden aircraft hanger, yet decorated with a similar feel to the original.
The front area houses most of the seating at picnic-style tables, a long wavy bar, and the food truck in the front right corner. The games lie behind that: an emporium if you will of pool tables, air hockey, foosball, bubble hockey, sit-down arcade games, and more. There's also more seating in the rear on an elevated stoop and at a second smaller bar.
As previously reported, Emporium Logan Square will only serve canned beer and liquor, and the truck will mostly serve sandwiches. It soft-opens tonight in advance of Wednesday's grand opening.
