New Restaurant for Troquet Space; Cuban in Roscoe Village; More Coming Soon

RAVENSWOOD—Something new is coming to the shuttered Troquet space on Montrose, and although Mangal looks to be opening soon, little is known about it. The name suggests a Middle Eastern barbecue spot but ownership declined to give details, other than it has "limited seating and a patio." A tipster says it's opening next week. [EaterWire]

ROSCOE VILLAGE—Roscoe Village eaters are getting a new Cuban restaurant in a space that used to house a Guatemalan restaurant, El Tinajon. From the ownership behind Taste of Cuba Cafe in Lincolnwood, look for it to open in the fall at 2054 W. Roscoe. [EaterWire]

STREETERVILLE—4 Star Restaurant Group (Smoke Daddy, Dunlay's, Crosby's Kitchen) are planning a "unique American grill concept," The Windsor, in the former Elephant & Castle space at the base of the Crowne Plaza Hotel (160 E. Huron.) It holds 175 seats; target opening date is June 2015. [Crain's]

LAKEVIEW—A new custom panini spot, The Panini Republic, is coming to the former Red Hen at 500 W. Diversey. The owner, a former Naf Naf Grill district manager, promises "fresh and local breads, meats, cheeses and unique sauces" in the sandwiches, as well as "unique salads, soups, smoothies, signature lemonade" and a mid-to-late August opening. GOLD COAST—The Viagra Triangle is getting a new upscale lounge and nightclub, Room Seven, in the former Leg Room space at 7 W. Division. Look for bottle service and DJ's in mid-September. [EaterWire]
