Get ready for brunch, burgers, and breakfast-for-dinner to come to the former Chickpea space on Chicago Avenue tomorrow. Two brothers, Rick and David Rodriguez, run the new restaurant Whisk; Rick is the former chef at Logan Square's Rocking Horse. They're combining to bring "American brunch fare with a Mexican twist" to Ukrainian Village daily in the breakfast and lunch hours, followed by the rest of the concept in the evenings.
The menus, which you can read on the website, include a myriad of egg dishes, chilaquiles, 10 burgers, chicken and waffles, tilapia tacos, and much more. Although some of the seatings are already sold out, the Rodriguez brothers are kicking off service with ticketed friends and family dinners Wednesday through Friday; regular hours begin Saturday.
