Will its "female-friendly" reputation distinguish STK from the many steakhouses in Chicago? STK, the steakhouse and lounge chain famous for its women-targeting ad campaigns, small, medium, and large portion sizes of steak, and clubby vibe, announced its leasing of two floors in the Museum of Broadcast Communications building at 360 N. State via the Wall Street Journal and Crain's today. Expect the opening of the 10th STK in the world to happen sometime next year.
Reps of STK parent company The One Group say that the 13,000 square-foot Chicago location will feature bar, banquette, and bistro seating; and DJs. Menu items include STK's signature dishes (including "Shrimp Rice Krispies," foie gras French toast, and something called "Lil'BRGs") and new items tailored to the local market.
Given the many steakhouses in the immediate area, whether classic, new or upcoming, will STK's model stand out in the local scene?
