Pretty soon, River North businessmen, revelers and travelers will have a coffee and pastry option from one of the most respected Italian chefs in Chicago. Chef Tony Priolo and his team have taken over the Crumbs Bake Shop next to Piccolo Sogno Due and are planning to open Piccoletto, as in little Piccolo Sogno, sometime soon.
Priolo says the spot will specialize in piadini, an Italian flatbread street food that can be served sweet or savory with a variety of ingredients. Piccoletto will also serve espresso, coffee, and other pastries.
People who have been to the former Crumbs know that the space is cozy and in a high traffic area. There's no exact timeframe yet for opening—stay tuned.
