And here's the latest on the dueling arcade bars of Chicago: following Emporium Arcade Bar's reveal last month that its upcoming Logan Square spot will house a food truck, Headquarters Beercade is revealing today that its upcoming River North location will house a full kitchen and chef. Capacity Bar Group is now pegging it to open in late summer.
Chris Coker, formerly of Taverna 750, W Hotels and Takashi, will helm said kitchen. Reps are revealing very little about what dishes he's planning, aside from that they will "reinterpret sentimental classics," which apparently means things like gourmet jerky and "artisanal takes on TV dinners of days past."
Cocktails will include "PUNCHout," made with Hawaiian Punch, amaro, and pineapple and mint-infused gin, as well as some mainstays from the Lakeview spot that will be determined by customer votes via its Facebook page.
Now, as your mom may have said in days past, it's a beautiful day so go play outside.
