Details on Packing House, the Market Revamp, Soft Opening April 15

New, 3 comments

When Packing House, the reconcepted Market, opens later in the month, expect a complete 180 from the multi-level sports bar and eatery that called the space home. The new chef Amanda Barnes (City Tavern, Purple Pig) says that "the rooftop is the only thing that's the same."

The new concept will be anything but a sports bar, she says. She's readying a menu of "American modern" food with a "Mediterranean influence" focusing on charcuterie and cheese plates, crudo, entrees, and pizza. Gone is the beverage focus of beer and shots, replaced by a "killer wine list." "The concept, food, staff, and management—all new," she says.

Barnes is noticeably excited, calling the revamp "a big project" and describing the decor changes as "much more high-end." The chef stayed at City Tavern for only a few months and simply says it wasn't a good fit for her. Expect Packing House to soft open in the middle of the month and friends and family dinners to commence soon after.
