New Cooking Demo at Siena Tavern; Cafe Society Becoming Spoke & Bird; more

RIVER NORTH—Fabio Viviani is back at Siena Tavern this Sunday for a cooking demo featuring a four-course menu for attendees. NBC5's Cheryl Scott will emcee and Jeffrey David Goldford from American Idol season 9 will perform. Tickets are available here and 20 percent of the ticket price will benefit Autism Speaks. SOUTH LOOP—Jorge Armando Afanador's Café Society, which opened in 2000, will morph into Spoke & Bird next month. Changes requested by the Chicago Park District forced Afanador to recruit new business partners (Alicia Bird and Scott Golas). The new space will feature a menu of panini, salads, soups and crepes and, upon the acquisition of a liquor license, beer and wine. [Crain's]
