New Yorkers will get a chance to dine at Chicago's molecular institution, the ninth best restaurant in the world, on their home turf—for much longer than five days. On the heels of his flagship restaurant returning to the top 10 on the World's 50 Best, Grant Achatz tells Fine Dining Lovers that he "will be taking Alinea and literally plunking it down in Manhattan" for "likely a month, maybe more" this October.
Achatz and team famously packed a U-Haul and swapped kitchens with Eleven Madison Park for five days in fall 2012. This move, in addition to lasting a much longer period of time, will also attempt to replicate the Alinea experience in every detail possible.
Pricing, exact dates and exact location are unknown at this time, although Achatz did tell Fine Dining Lovers that it will be somewhere in Uptown Manhattan and hold 60 seats. Stay tuned for more details.
