Add Billy Lawless to the long line of Chicago restaurateurs that are going Italian. Rumors have been flying about the future of The Gage and The Dawson owner's formal French restaurant on Michigan Avenue, Henri, and it turns out that Lawless will reconcept it into a casual Italian spot, 10/6, according to Crain's.
Look for the change to begin in June and complete the following month. Chicago diners have been inundated with Italian concepts of late, many well-received, such as Nico Osteria, Cicchetti, Eataly, Cocello, Azzurra, Osteria Langhe, Current, Formento's...the list goes on. Lawless' concept includes a pasta tasting menu, whole animal service, pizza, and the same staff. Henri opened in 2010.
