SOUTH LOOP—Sloopers have been waiting 16 months for Villains to reopen at its new location, and although that won't happen until (hopefully) next month, there is a chef in place. Former HotChocolate chef Dennis Stover is that man, planning an 18-item menu for the bar and grill. Stover exited HotChocolate in August. [Chicago Mag]
LOOP—Head to Daley Plaza tomorrow between 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. to celebrate Chicago's 177th birthday and Mardi Gras. Eat grub from 10 food trucks, free cake (while it lasts), paczki, and listen to live music. [EaterWire]
SCHAUMBURG—As Rosebud prepares to open Joe Fish, they also sold a restaurant. Rosebud Old World Italian in Schaumburg is under new ownership and name, Chicago Prime Italian. [Daily Herald]
RIVER NORTH—Head to Celeste tonight to try their extremely-limited edition late-night fried chicken. Only 10 orders will be available beginning at 11 p.m.; try some cocktails off the massive menu while you're there. [EaterWire]
