Owner Ty Fujimura is opening his new restaurant, Ani (meaning "elder brother"), beginning with lunch service today in the former Chizakaya location. The space features a front 40-seat dining room with a sake pouring station and a rear 16-seat lounge with a six-seat chef's counter.
Chef Shin Matsuda's menus (read the dinner one below) include a wide range of Japanese dishes, from sashimi to maki mono, to hot and cold small plates, to robata grilling and ramen. Beverages focus on sake, including their exclusive Tokubetsu Junmai made by Omuraya Brewery in Japan and unveiled at Arami last spring.
Ani is open for lunch and dinner starting today. Take a look around and read the dinner menu below.
