Evanstonians will finally get to peek inside Peckish Pig, the first brewpub in Evanston, when it soft opens tomorrow, per Urban Daddy. The restaurant and brewery is from husband and wife team Jamie and Debbie Evans, who worked on opening Towbar last year while the build out for Peckish Pig was underway.
Debbie is handling the kitchen, which will put out the usual suspects of a pub (including a Peckish Pig burger), but will also feature vegetarian and vegan food. Some other non-traditional pub far include tuna Wellington, a deep-fried peanut butter and jelly sandwich ("deep-fried jam butty") and a Sunday roast dinner.
The brewery is headed up by Tom Fogarty, who will produce, in-house, four of the twelve beers the bar will have on tap.
Peckish Pig seats around 140 guests, and another 160 once they are able to open the patio.
