A New Year's Eve popup by Dirk Flanigan was the last dinner ever served at Storefront Company. The restaurant embarked on a winter break for the month of January, and as it turns out, would never reopen. The website recently disappeared and owner Steve Harris confirmed the shutter today.
Storefront Company, an ambitious kitchen counter-driven restaurant on North Avenue in Wicker Park, was the brainchild of nearby Debonair Social Club ownership and chef Bryan Moscatello. After opening in March 2012 it never seemed to find its place, switching gears to tasting menus along the way, and Moscatello left the restaurant in early December to move to Colorado. There's no word yet on what's coming to the location next.
