ANDERSONVILLE—The adjacent rec room at Hamburger Mary's is getting a makeover. The rebranded Andersonville Brewing will serve the same food menu as Mary's and will still be the "sportier" part of the restaurant. A large beer tap handle display, a new tap tower, along with more "beer-centric" paraphernalia. Be on the lookout for tapping parties once it opens in mid-March. [EaterWire]
SOUTH LOOP—Last summer Michelin-starred Acadia simplified things by serving just one tasting menu, removing the a la carte options (except in the bar). Seven months later those a la carte options have returned and now include Peobscot Bay Area scallop (in season for two months), Stonington lobster, Gunthrop Farms duck and Yukon potato "risotto." UNIVERSITY VILLAGE—The Good Food Festival & Conference will celebrate its 10-year anniversary when it returns to the UIC Forum March 13-15. Expect chef demos from Rick Bayless, Paul Virant (Perennial Virant) and Erling Wu-Bower (Nico Osteria), as well as a Good Food Master Class with writer Michael Ruhlman and chef Brian Polcyn (co-authors of Charcuterie: The Craft of Salting, Smoking, and Curing). The Localicious party on March 14 will bring out some of the best and brightest in the restaurant industry (there'll be food, wine/beer/spirits, and a live bluegrass band to boot). [EaterWire]
FULTON MARKET—Next Sunday, February 16, The Butcher & Larder will join forces with La Sirena Clandestina for a collaborative dinner using beef from La Pryor farm in Ottawa, IL. The dinner, which will be held at La Sirena Clandestina, is $80 per person and reservations can be made by calling (312) 226-5300. [EaterWire]
RIVER NORTH—Next Thursday, February 13, High Noon Saloon will host Revolution Brewing for an evening spotlight on their seasonal and year-round beers. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and is free. Revolution's Aimee Quinkert will be on hand and there will be live music from Patrick Kolb from 8:00 until 11:00 p.m. [EaterWire]
