Brendan Sodikoff is ready to unveil a concept and space unlike any he's unleashed yet. There are no chandeliers or plush couches inside Green Street Smoked Meats—only faded brick, picnic tables, light bulbs dangling on strings, smokers, tin and concrete inside a West Loop warehouse.
Even the menu is written on a chalkboard—you won't see it in this post. You order the Texas-style 'cue at a counter next to the smokers and grab a seat at one of the tables. Or you can sit at the bar, a large rectangular bar in the center of the open room with a few taps.
High Five Ramen, a tiny space down a tight concrete staircase, will open in a few weeks, Sodikoff says. Jack & Juice should open sometime down the line as well. Green Street Smoked Meats opens tonight.
