Add Waldorf Astoria amenities to the many projects in Brendan Sodikoff's portfolio. The superstar restaurateur will oversee all of the luxury hotel's food and drink—including Balsan. Rumblings of the partnership first surfaced last spring and the confirmation finally comes today.
Sodikoff will reconcept Balsan but details on what it will become are currently unavailable. His company will also handle Bernard's Bar, in-room dining and special events, putting his design stamp on the hotel as a whole. The former Elysian hotel has repeatedly been named the No. 1 city hotel in the United States in the Conde Nast Traveler Readers Choice Awards.
The deal marks the latest in a long line of upcoming Sodikoff projects, including the recently-opened Green Street Smoked Meats, Maxim's, Roxie's Roadside Refresher, and High Five Ramen. Expect this turnaround to be complete in the spring.
