Celeb chef Jose Garces will attempt to heat up Streeterville this winter. The Iron Chef will open his second Argentine steakhouse Rural Society (the first opened in Washington, D.C. this summer) in the forthcoming Loews Hotel Streeterville at 455 North Park Drive. The Garces Group is currently on the hunt for a chef de cuisine, placing ads on Craigslist and its own website.

Rural Society D.C. employs a 10-foot grill to cook meats, seafood, vegetables and pizzas over imported Argentine wood. Stacks of wood is also its main design element, while the bar focuses on Italian digestifs and whiskeys. It has been well received, as Washington Post critic Tom Sietsema awarded 2.5 stars in September.

The Tribune briefly mentioned Rural Society Streeterville last month in a story about the hotel, yet neither Garces Group nor Loews Hotel reps responded to multiple requests for more information. Stay tuned.
