The end of the year has been packed with Chicago brewery news for both the North and South sides.

BreakRoom Brewery aims to begin pouring in January at 2925 W. Montrose Ave. in Albany Park, according to DNA Info. First announced in October 2013, the plan was to open in January 2014. That was before realizing how long securing city permits and adhering to budget constraints would take. Lunch, dinner and weekend brunch are on the menu for the pub. We've reached out to BreakRoom for more details on the food component of the project and will update when we hear more.

The South Side has had its share of excitement, and Baderbräu brewing hopes to capitalize on that momentum with plans for a facility in the South Loop. Take a look at renderings posted over at Curbed Chicago, where they also chat with Baderbräu's Rob Sama.
