The Greek goddess "Eris" represents chaos, but the team behind Eris Brewery and Ciderhouse won't evoke their namesake as their plans go through city council.

Obviously, they want their plans to go smoothly, and so far so good, as Ald. John Arena (45th) announced on Facebook that Eris management would invest $5 million into the project and open in spring 2016.

The announcement comes after a Tuesday night meeting which allowed the community to view renderings and discuss the plans. However, Michelle Foik and her team want to take a more conservative approach in making announcements for their 125-seat brewpub that's planned to takeover Korean Bethel Presbyterian Church at 4240 W. Irving Park Rd.

"The community meeting went well," Foik wrote in an email. "A little concern about the traffic coming off the alleyway between Tripp [Avenue] and Kildare, but not a problem. All in all the meeting had a lot of positive energy involved."

Eris would serve food, brew beer and press cider on premises. Arena hosted the Tuesday meeting for his constituents.
