WEST LOOP—With XOCO Wicker Park nearing the four-month mark, Rick Bayless is turning his attention to his mysterious project on Randolph Street. The celebrity chef and TV personality says "we're starting to work on it in earnest now" and that it's now slated to open in late spring or early summer. He's still unwilling to divulge more details on the concept, which he previously said would be "a completely new concept that you've never seen before" and house a nanobrewery, so stay tuned for that information soon. PILSEN—Magik St. Tavern, the cocktail bar, taco-centric eatery and event space in the Lacuna Artist Lofts, is also delayed. Ownership is now hoping to open it in February. [EaterWire]
LINCOLN PARK—Sugar Fixe Macaron, a second location from the people behind Sugar Fixe Patisserie in Oak Park, could open sometime this month at 951 W. Armitage. [EaterWire]
GOLD COAST—Here's another delay (see a theme here?)—the two-floor late-night Texas-imported taqueria Velvet Taco is now looking like an early-2015 opening. [EaterWire]
LAKEVIEW—Lakeview Kitchen & Market, an "innovative concept servicing chefs and culinary enthusiasts," is taking over the 75-year home of House of Fine Chocolates at 3109 N. Broadway, according to a real estate press release. It will house a shared kitchen for chefs and a retail section but it's unknown whether there will be seating and service. [EaterWire]
RAVENSWOOD—Vietnamese sandwiches are on the way to 1613 W. Lawrence, as city documents show and an LTH Forum user reports that Co Co Vietnamese Sandwiches is taking over the former Arcadia Knitting space. The opening should be soon, as it passed a licensing inspection on December 6. [EaterWire]
THE LOOP—The addition of America's Dogs, Just Turkey and Marcello's Market & Deli are part of the revamp of the Thompson Center. [CRED]
