It was a sad holiday weekend for burger fans in Lincoln Park. Edzo's Burger Shop, an Eater 38 honoree, shuttered its Lincoln Park location yesterday after two years in business on Lincoln Avenue.
Owner Eddie Lakin broke the news on Saturday night via a note on the restaurant's Facebook page, where the only reason given for the closure was "circumstances beyond our control." Edzo's acclaimed griddled burgers, as well as other menu items, are still available at the original Evanston location as well as the new outpost inside Deuce's and the Diamonds Club in Wrigleyville.
UPDATE: Lakin tells DNAinfo that "we weren't making our rent" and hoped it would turn around.
