Bin 36 Reportedly Leaving River North For Province Space

Wine and cheese stalwart looking to relocate into former Province space in West Loop.

Bin 36

Bin 36 could be on the move, as the Marina City wine bar has its eyes set on a West Loop locale, Crain's reports.

The lease for the space at 339 Dearborn St. comes up at the end of the year, and the owners are reportedly planning a move to 161 N. Jefferson St. That's the former site of Province, which closed about a year ago.

Bin 36 management at one point ran two establishments. Bin Wine Cafe closed in December 2012 in Wicker Park at 1559 N. Milwaukee Ave., replaced by Links Taproom. The move out of River North would end a 15-year run in Marina City. The restaurant's social media accounts were silent Wednesday morning about the potential move, and a woman answering the phone said she was "unfamiliar with the information." Owner Dan Sachs didn't immediately reply to an email seeking comment.

There's no word when the move would take place or when Bin would re-open. There's also no word on what would replace Bin, which stands next to Wilco's favorite parking garages. Stay tuned.
