WICKER PARK–You can only get so far with a stroller, as Chicago police have made two arrests in connection to the "Stroller Bandits" heist in which a group stole a $650 bicycle and $10 from the tip jar at Craft Pizza, 1252 N. Damen Ave. Security cameras recorded the Nov. 8 incident, and the bicycle was recovered days later. [Tribune]
LAKEVIEW–The two Chicago-area Burger Boss restaurants will feature a special burger inspired by The Food Network's Jeff Mauro to raise money for charity. The Mauro Melt, consisting of two Angus beef patties, grilled onions, fried cherry peppers, American cheese and Boss Sauce, all in between a pumpernickel bun, will only be available for the month of December. A portion of sales will benefit Hephzibah Children's Association, an Oak Park-based not for profit which helps neglected and abused children and their families. [EaterWire]
WEST TOWN–Roots Handmade Pizza, 1924 W. Chicago Ave., will highlight brews from Lagunitas and Local Option for a special event at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The event will also feature specials on Roots' malt crust pies and brewery giveaways. The tap list includes Local Option's Exorcist (foreign extra stout), Walk Ov Shame (saison), Barrel Aged Kentucky Common (American wild ale) and Outlawger (German pilsner). The Lagunitas offerings are: Born Yesterday (fresh hop American pale ale), Little Sumpin' Wild (Belgian IPA), Fusion 24 (amber ale) and Hop Stoopid (American imperial IPA). [EaterWire]
LINCOLN PARK–Hey, Lion-O! The first of two new Chicago Snarf's outlets is set to open this week inside the former 7-Eleven at the corner of Lincoln and Webster avenues. Hopefully this time management won't terminate any employees via email. [DNAInfo]
