One year into DryHop Brewers last May, owner Greg Shuff revealed that he was in negotiations for his second brewpub. Now word comes of this new project, named Corridor Brewery & Provisions, which brings his company to the other end of Lakeview, the Tribune reports.
Corridor, which is under construction now on the Southport Corridor (3446 N. Southport), will still be a brewpub but a little different style than DryHop. The "farmhouse craft brewery and restaurant" will serve a new selection of Belgian-style beers by brewmaster Brant Dubovick as well as chef Joel Pillar's clay oven-baked sandwiches and flatbreads made with beer-infused dough.
The 3,000 square-foot space will hold 90 seats, 18-foot ceilings, and a 25-seat patio and open air frontage in the warmer months—which is when Shuff is hoping to open, targeting summer 2015.
Corridor Brewery and Provisions will be part of the upgrading of the Southport eating and drinking scene, joining the new Coalfire Pizza and an imminent banh mi shop.
And Corridor may just be the first new concept for Shuff and team, so stay tuned.
