Inside Fosse's Summerdale, Serving American Classics Today in Andersonville

Peek around Summerdale -- today's the day to sample what restaurant vet Marty Fosse has in store in the former Marigold space.

Opening today in the former Marigold / Bull Horns Taco Bar space in Andersonville, Summerdale, the classic American restaurant from a team headed up by restaurant vet Marty Fosse, hopes to grow roots where those two concepts could not. You've seen the menu, today look over the space that the partners hope becomes a favorite spot of the neighborhood's inhabitants.

The interior is open and sunny, featuring no frills tables and chairs, exposed brick walls and a curved, lacquered bar. The full menu, food and drinks, is written on a chalkboard wall.

Note the many references to the area of Andersonville that the restaurant is named after (it was also the name of a train stop at one point). The sub-neighborhood now rests in history (Google search "Summerdale scandal" to read about a burglary that led to the arrests of police officers) and Fosse expressly wanted the design to pay homage to the area's past.

Summerdale opens today at 5:30 PM for dinner service.
