Vice President Joe Biden received a Monday night delivery before Air Force 2 took off from O'Hare International Airport. Staff from Celeste dropped off 30 orders of fried chicken and its house-made "cherry bomb" sauce, along with grits, macaroni and cheese and chocolate mousse. Secret Service ensured Biden's safety, as bomb-sniffing dogs inspected the food before the chicken made it onboard.
Biden and his wife Jill made stops on Monday in Rockford and Davenport, Iowa on behalf of state Democrats with Election Day approaching n Tuesday, Nov. 4. Biden's camp contacted Celeste on Thursday with the request; Celeste staffers brought out thermometers on O'Hare's tarmac to test the chicken's temperature to ensure quality and taste.
Celeste staff made a similar delivery in July to Air Force 1, when they dropped off food for First Lady Michelle Obama. That leaves one prominent person left in the White House who hasn't had a delivery.
"My guess it's just a matter of time before (the president) wants some of that Celeste fried chicken," Celeste's Rafid Hindo said.
