The doors to Oak + Char, the oak-aged, wood-burning flame restaurant in the former Graham Elliot space, are due to open any day now at 217 W. Huron. Former Untitled executive chef Joseph Heppe looks to be skewing towards big, bold flavor combinations as the menu, which can see below, includes non-conventional dishes such as skate schnitzel, pork trotter spring rolls, lamb sweetbreads with morcia and goat strozzapreti.
On the beverage front, Mae Governale is leading the charge, with drinks named for those that have inspired or helped out the team on their way to opening. One example is the "Dolly" from bartender Elizabeth Weiss featuring Rittenhouse rye, maple, lemon, egg white, cucumber and salt that was inspired by Dolly Parton.
Read through the Oak + Char food and beverage menus below and stay tuned for information on their exact opening date, which is dependent on its liquor license going through.
