WEST TOWN—This year's Celebrity Chef Ball benefiting Meals on Wheels Chicago will be held at Morgan Manufacturing, that huge new retail and development space that just opened up. That means a lot of pristine space for great food from the likes of Fat Rice's Abe Conlon and Longman & Eagle's Jared Wentworth who are two of six chefs pairing Goose Island beers with their dishes. Also on hand will be such acclaimed out of town chefs as Matthew Accarrino (San Francisco's SPQR) and Guy Marom (Puzzle Israel in Galilee, Israel); other participating restaurants include Blackbird, Sepia, Ruxbin, EL Ideas and more. The event will also include hidden, gender-specific, cocktail stations. Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased here. [EaterWire]
MERCHANDISE MART—Intelligentsia Cafe is moving out of the 1871 space at Merchandise Mart at the end of the month, Crain's reports. Management says the coffee shop wasn't generating enough revenue and they're considering the idea of either bringing in a Jamba Juice, a Freshii or even an Apple Genius Bar. [Crain's]
LOGAN SQUARE—This Sunday, Fat Rice is laying out a six-course meal and wine tasting devoted to wine from Quinta do Infantado in Douro, Portugal.
