Mapping Chicago's New Highrises; Lakefront Getting New Green Space; More

DOWNTOWN—There are currently 14 highrises taller than 200 feet currently under construction in downtown Chicago right nowCheck out Curbed's map of all of these projects.

LINCOLN PARK—City officials broke ground this week on an ambitious project that will add new shoreline and 5.8 acres of new green space to the lakefront near Fullerton Avenue.

MUSEUM CAMPUS—Mayor Emanuel wants to make it easier to get to the Museum Campus, and one group has proposed a downtown rapid streetcar system.

RIVER WEST—A major retail and residential development for Chicago Avenue in River West is moving forward. The plan will replace the shuttered Gonnella Bakery with 360 apartments and 35,000 square feet of retail space.

BRONZEVILLE—The city is looking to sell and redevelop several vacant lots around the 43rd Street Green Line station and has recently issued a request for proposals.
