Chicago's First Shake Shack Is Less Than a Month Away

New, 1 comment

Take a look around the nearly-finished first local location of the worldwide burger empire.

Chicago will finally get its first Shack Shack soon after the calendar flips to November. But the space, as evidenced in the photos above, is just about ready to go in the former Harley Davidson store at 66 E. Ohio St. in River North.

An iconic Shake Shack sign now wraps around Ohio and Rush Streets, proudly displaying mega-restaurateur Danny Meyer's burgers, shakes, fries, hot dogs and frozen concretes. Behind the windows, which are still papered over, lies a sleek wood and brick buildout, a nearly-finished counter and kitchen, twinkling lights overhead, and tables and chairs that are being arranged as you read these words.

While management has yet to set an official opening date, the target is early November. Stay tuned for much more.
