As neighborhood bars continue to fall by the wayside, Matt Eisler is planning to bring a long-shuttered bar back to life a la Sportsman's Club. Revealed at a community meeting last night and reported by DNAinfo, Eisler (Bar DeVille, Trenchermen, Lone Wolf) leased a former bar at 2125 W. Division St., closed since 1975, and plans to open a cocktail spot called Queen Mary that's an homage to the former owner.
Eisler says the timeframe for opening and the specific concept—as well as whether it will happen at all—is still up in the air because licensing is still up for a community vote next month. "Regardless of the specifics of the concept, it is sure to be a special place," he says.
