Get ready for more cider than you can shake an apple tree at. Billed as "Chicago's first cider pub" in a release, the team behind Fountainhead and Bar on Buena are planning a cider concept for their recent acquisition, the former Copper House, renaming it The Northman. It is currently open under the name Meantime and will close for reconcepting before reopening in the spring.
When The Northman opens, more than 100 ciders will be available, in addition to a few beers, wines, and liquors. Fountainhead executive chef Cleetus Friedman will design a food program that will be "designed to complement the ciders."
Copper House was open for roughly 10 months after taking over for Jury's.
